MEALS ON THE MOVE - East of I75

We have increased our capacity thanks to generous donors and a grant from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation and the Linnie E. Dalbeck Memorial Foundation. We have updated our kitchen and added new meal packaging equipment allowing us to prepare as many 1,000 meals simultaneously. We need volunteers and help establishing a satellite location east of the interstate as well as finding clients in need of healthy meals - regardless of age or ability to pay.

Our clients are typically isolated, and live with physical or mental disabilities, whether temporary or permanent. If you can help identify people who may be struggling with hunger and isolation, please contact us, or have them contact us. Call 941-366-6693 or fill out the form to have meals delivered.

Feeding Sarasota's Homebound Since 1971

Since 1971, Meals on Wheels of Sarasota, a non-profit 501c3, volunteer community service organization has been providing nutritious meals and friendship to individuals who are unable to plan, shop, or prepare meals for themselves. Monday through Saturday, our 450 volunteers deliver around 500 meals per day.

Our service area is from University Parkway to Blackburn Point Road and from I-75 to Longboat, Lido and Siesta Keys. This area is divided into 32 routes and meal deliveries are made by volunteer drivers who use their own vehicles and fuel.

Meals on Wheels of Sarasota, Inc. delivers nutritious meals to persons in need in the Sarasota community who are unable to provide or prepare a meal for themselves in their home.

We serve any person who is homebound-physically or mentally disabled - elderly - recent hospital discharged - veterans waiting for benefits - homebound handicapped children.
